More than just the camera
Hey, I’m Chris! I’m the person behind CJZ Shotz, and while photography and videography have become a huge part of my life, there’s a lot more to me than just being behind a camera.
I’ve always been someone who enjoys trying new things, getting creative, and finding something interesting in the everyday moments around me. What started as something I stumbled into has turned into a way for me to connect with people, experience new things, and tell stories through my work.
Beyond the Sidelines
Funny enough, photography wasn’t something I originally planned on getting into.
It all started during a trip to Miami when a buddy of mine let me use his camera. I was honestly just goofing around, taking pictures of whatever caught my attention.
One of those pictures was this red Corvette. I had no idea at the time that something as simple as borrowing a camera would turn into something I genuinely loved doing.
What started as messing around on vacation eventually grew into something much bigger, and that’s where my journey with photography began
Beyond the Sidelines
Sports have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I played several different sports, including roller hockey for a couple of years and football for 15 years.
Eventually, I found myself on the other side of things. I spent four years working in education, and during that time, I also coached football and track and field.
Being around sports for so much of my life has given me a different perspective when I’m behind the camera. I understand the excitement of a big play, the emotions that come with the game, and the moments that might not seem like much to someone watching from the stands.
These days, photography and videography have become my main way of staying involved in sports. I might not be the one playing or coaching anymore, but I still get to be right there in the middle of the action, capturing the moments that make sports so special to me.
The Story Continues
From borrowing a camera in Miami to photographing sports, live events, and everything in between, it’s been pretty cool seeing where this journey has taken me.
I’m still learning, trying new things, and finding new ways to be creative. I don’t know exactly where CJZ Shotz will take me next, but I’m excited to find out.
And hopefully, I’ll get to tell a few more stories along the way.
